Landmark Signature For Türkiye's Most Critical Unmanned Aerial Platform Conversion Project

A historic agreement was signed at IDEF 2025 for one of Türkiye’s most strategic unmanned transformation initiatives. The cooperation protocol signed between Titra, a subsidiary of Pasifik Teknoloji, and the General Directorate of Military Factories (AFGM), aims to convert manned helicopters into unmanned aerial platforms.

Pasifik Teknoloji’s defense subsidiary Titra and the General Directorate of Military Factories (AFGM) signed a cooperation agreement as part of Türkiye’s helicopter unmanning transformation project. The signing ceremony, held on the third day of IDEF 2025, was attended by Pasifik Teknoloji Board Member Selman Dönmez and AFGM General Manager İmdat Ersoy. The protocol was signed by Titra Teknoloji General Manager Ekrem Ünlü.

The project targets the conversion of Bell 206 and UH1 helicopters to carry over 1,000 kg of payload. This initiative will enable the repurposing of existing manned helicopters for strategic and operational objectives.

Entire System to Be Developed with Local Engineering Capabilities

Titra will develop all integrated components using its national engineering expertise. The transformation will be built upon an indigenously designed avionics suite, a fully domestic autopilot system, an advanced mission computer, and ground control station software. Leveraging its production infrastructure and flight testing team, Titra is well-positioned to adapt these technologies swiftly to field conditions.

From ALPİN Projects to Advanced Conversions

Titra, through its previous ALPİN UAV projects added to Türkiye’s defense inventory, has pioneered numerous breakthroughs in rotary-wing UAV technologies. While the ALPİN platforms can carry up to 200 kg of payload, this new conversion project aims to surpass that significantly. In the future, it is envisioned that a major portion of military logistics will be carried out by unmanned helicopters.

Dönmez added that through this strategic agreement with AFGM—Türkiye’s primary institution for helicopter maintenance and modernization—an exciting new era has begun.
